Feb 2007-ongoing

Developing integrated employment and skills services. Working with London, and latterly South East, regional agencies (LSC, Jobcentre Plus and RDAs), Local Authorities, colleges, welfare to work providers and other key partners to develop strategic and operational approaches to integrating employment and skills services. Facilitating a series of ideas-building workshops for commissioning and delivery partners. Supporting delivery partners in developing business to business relationships to provide individuals and employers with integrated services

 

Sept 2006 - ongoing

Development and implementation of an older workforce strategy for the South East Region. Obtaining Regional Skills Partnership endorsement for a South East strategy to encompass skills development and information, advice and guidance. Chairing a group of key regional stakeholders appointed by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) to develop and implement a regional 40-70 Tomorrow's Workforce programme. Promoting dialogue between regional sources of expertise and national policy makers, particularly through two ideas building events at St George's House, Windsor. Supporting SEEDA in developing strands of the 40-70 programme and in identifying and supporting providers to deliver these strands.

 

Sept 2006 - Mar 2007

Development of an Action for Communities policy and strategy for the South East Region. Reviewing existing and emerging national policies for individuals learning within their communities, including policies on skills, adult learning, health, community cohesion, etc. Developing a regional strategic framework based on the alignment of resources from different funding agencies (LSC, Local Authorities, Health Service, Jobcentre Plus, RDA, etc). Integrating this strategy with a separately funded project led by NIACE to develop learning in the community infrastructures at local level. Promoting dialogues about learning in the community between regional sources of expertise and national policy makers, particularly through an ideas building event at St George's House, Windsor.

 

Feb 2007 -ongoing

Developing and implementing a strategy for Londoners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Reviewing existing and emerging national policies. Researching infrastucture models being developed in London and elsewhere. Writing a multi-agency strategy, Learning for Living and Working in London, in consultation with the LSC; Jobcentre Plus; the Greater London Authority; London Councils; Department for Health; etc. Supporting an implementation programme with the LSC, providers and other partners including the development of an Employability Manifesto for Londoners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities

 

Feb 2007

Facilitating the development of employment and skills aspects of the Regional Economic Strategy (RES) for the South East Region. Researching the national and regional contexts for a RES 'transformational action'. Facilitating a workshop to develop ideas for the RES Implementation Plan.

 

May 2008

Lead facilitator at a workshop for College Principals and Governors in Sussex to explore the impact of national policy changes on their institutions

 

Jan- March 2008

Supporting Culture South East and the South East England Development Agency in the development of a cultural and creative industries action plan.
